Spring Cleaning Your Body: Simple Strategies for a Fresh Start

Want to learn more?

As we start on the seasonal spring clean at home, don’t forget that our bodies and minds deserve some love too! Winter usually means a lot of time spent indoors and a little bit more padding on the tummy due to less exercise and a little extra indulgence. But now that things are warming up it’s time to get moving and give your body the kickstart it needs before we roll into the summer months.

So today we’re going to look at some practical strategies to boost your energy levels, enhance digestion, and achieve that ultimate spring glow-up for all those selfies outdoors!

Hydrate, Hydrate, Hydrate!

Drinking more water can have a transformative impact on your health and it’s so easy to do, yet many of us still aren’t getting enough H20 daily. Why? Well, it’s a habit, and any habit needs to become ingrained to stick. Research shows it takes an average of 66 days for a habit to stick, so try setting reminders on your phone daily for the next two months to have a sip and it won’t be long until it’s a part of your routine you don’t even have to think about. Most people need to drink about half their body weight in water daily.

For example, a 200-pound adult will need about 100 ounces of water a day (12.9 liters or about 20 glasses). But you do need to take exercise into account too, so make sure to add 12 ounces for every 30 minutes of physical activity.

Pack in Those Greens

Your Mom told you to eat your greens for a good reason! They pack a powerful punch when it comes to detoxifying your system and giving your immune system a boost. Choose some of these seasonal vegetables to add to your plate in Spring:

  • Asparagus
  • Peas
  • Artichokes
  • Radishes
  • Spinach
  • Spring onions
  • Lettuce and Salad Greens
  • Fava Beans (broad beans)
  • Carrots

Check Ingredient Lists

ALWAYS check the ingredients of what you’re putting into your body. If you can’t pronounce it then the odds are your body may struggle to digest it. Try to opt for ingredients you recognize to give your body the right fuel it needs. One key thing to watch out for is the order of ingredients also; these go in order of how much of the ingredient the food contains. So, for example, you really don’t want sugar to be in the top 3 list.

Practice Deep Breathing

You don’t need to go all Wim Hoff and jump into an ice bath to practice deep breathing, it can be as simple as taking 5 minutes a day to focus on your breath and center yourself to let go of any stress. Check out our post on Breathing Your Way to a Healthier Gut for more tips on how to implement this practice into your day.

Break a Sweat (the good kind!)

The best way to get moving daily is to choose activities that you enjoy, whether it’s dancing, hiking, yoga, or just simply going for a walk. Just 30 minutes of movement a day can lift your spirits and energize your body. Remember: don’t force yourself to do activities that you don’t like – make it fun!

Prioritize Rest

There’s a reason that this tip is coming right after breaking a sweat, and that’s because recharging is just as important. Sleep is absolutely essential to allow your body and mind to recharge. If you struggle with sleep this post with tips to get into a good nighttime routine will help.

Do a Natural Detox

There are many ways to detox naturally starting with your diet. But the best way to kickstart your detox and maintain the benefits is with the help of supplements such as our Liposomal Glutathione and Detox Cleanse. These work hard to rid your body of toxins, boost your immune system, and give your skin a healthy glow. Detox Cleanse is particularly helpful if you suffer from digestive issues such as constipation and bloating, whereas Liposomal Glutathione is your go-to for radiant skin, healthy aging, and a resilient immune system.

Reduce Inflammation in Your Body

When inflammation in your body becomes chronic it can make you feel achy and unwell – often with no idea why. We’re talking about digestive issues, autoimmune disorders, cardiovascular problems, sluggish memory/concentration, and the list goes on. Liposomal Curcumin is a supplement we’ve developed from turmeric that fights inflammation naturally and it’s a great addition to your daily routine. It helps ease pain, supports heart health, and even helps to get rid of that pesky brain fog!
